Doug Joyce served on the heavy cruiser, HMS London. In July 1942 the ship was providing distant cover to the PQ17 convoy on it’s way to Russia. Doug was on lookout next to the Bridge when one of the most famous radio messages of the war is received. He recalls the moment with clarity. And it’s not all he can remember, Doug gives a great interview about his life onboard which is at times laugh out loud funny and drop jaw incredible.
